Live Azores Sea for our world´s children

Mr President, as a citizen of a global village called EARTH where a universal conscience is waking up to the sustainability of the planet I’m very worried about the the Azores region´s fisheries because of the opening of the waters around the Azores to the fishery industry in dis-regard to it´s brave and protective regional laws! I am upset that the E.U is willing to disregard the delicate eco-systems that many generations have protected to the best of their knowledge. And recent discoveries of all the beauty discovered and yet to be discovered by scientists from all over the world will be forever lost. I can only wonder why so much money was invested into projects and all their discoveries is now be thrown away as if it was useless information.

It is a known fact:
52% of fish stocks are fully exploited
20% are moderately exploited
17% are overexploited
7% are depleted
1% is recovering from depletion
We are losing species as well as entire ecosystems worldwide. As a result the overall ecological unity of our oceans are under stress and at risk of collapse.
We are in risk of losing a valuable food source many depend upon for social, economical or dietary reasons.

In faith, I would like to believe that your Honor wouldn’t like to be remembered as the man that has destroyed a unique and delightful natural environment and above all a very sensitive zone.

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.” – Pericles

In my personal belief it´s an act compared to Hiroshima or Nagasaky…
I supposed that your Excellency amongst your partners love to spend your free time in areas like this, only because Nature can still breathe, and bewitch us with it´s magic and life…

“For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

For our sake, for the history of Human kind, and for our children…
Protect our heritage! And allow it to be a fish sanctuary, where only what is taken, is sustainable to a healthier environment.

With the best regards to your conscience.
